Michael J Agius

Michael was appointed Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at Hili Ventures in 2024. He previously held the role of Director of Finance – Projects. Michael is responsible for the entire merger and acquisition lifecycle, drawing up acquisition readiness assessments, taking on the operational and strategic responsibility for each project, while also conducting the required due diligence. He also manages any divestments made and supports the Chief Financial Officer in other major projects. Michael is an Economics graduate from the University of Malta and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He joined Hili Ventures from Grant Thornton Malta where he was Senior Manager Transaction Advisory Services, with responsibility for valuation exercises, impairment testing of audit clients’ intangible assets and assisting clients to optimise their balance sheets and identify potential investors. He was also involved in the mergers and acquisitions process, and mentored and coached teams across the organisation.
